What a shame, Donald Trump worked his tail off, created a wave of enthusiasm that all Republicans benefited from, and walked into the White House with a Republican House and Senate. There was one little problem. A big percentage of the Republicans were simply not going to play ball with the President. They were bent on following their own agenda, what ever the hell that was. Paul Ryan, the speaker of the house in the new administration, was a giant pain from the very beginning. You could see it, and hear it, in his sanctimonious statements, that he thought that President Trump was beneath him. That Donald Trump was an embarrassment to him and his fellow uppity Republican colleagues. They made it clear, they wanted nothing to do with Trump or any of his policies. Thus, because of these small minded idiots, they wasted the first two years of Trumps presidency, by sitting on their passive aggressive asses and quietly participating in the resistance with the Democrats. Paul Ryan made sure nothing happened that would benefit the President.

Donald Trump ran on two very important issues, securing the southern border, and repealing and replacing Obama Care. Both of these issues could have been accomplished easily in the first two years, but key Republicans didn’t want it to happen, although they campaigned on both of those issues. They basically lied to their constituents. I remember well, watching Paul Ryan’s half ass attempt at coming up with a new health care plan. You didn’t have to be a Phi Beta Kappa to figure out he was sandbagging it. I remember being totally pissed watching this idiot lie. He had absolutely no interest in doing that. I really think, that he would have rather died, than give the President a win.

The Republicans could have easily closed the immigration loop holes that allowed the “catch and release” policies of Barrack Obama and the Democrats. They had control of both houses, but again, that would have been a win for the President, and they just couldn’t let that happen. They could have overhauled the immigration system. They could have pulled out all of the stops and rammed it through the same way the Democrats did Obama Care. But no, their hearts just weren’t into it.

There is a commercial on TV for a dishwasher detergent. The mother is pre-washing the dishes before she puts them in the dishwasher. Her young daughter is perplexed, and asks the question, if you have to pre-wash the dishes, what exactly does a dishwasher do? Well after watching the Republicans for the last two years, I want to know, what exactly do Republicans do? The answer is easy…. not much. Because they dragged their feet and didn’t act on the President’s agenda, they are now in the back seat again. I’m beginning to think they like it that way.

The President may have saved the Senate, but in fact he really didn’t. We now have Mitt Romney, another useless twit. In reality, Mitt didn’t replace Orin Hatch, he replaced John McCain. Mitt Romney will never be the statesman that Orin Hatch was. Mitt is seriously handicapped, was born without a spine. There are another four or five Republicans in the Senate that are pretty useless as well. Until the Republicans become unified, and stand together like the Democrats do, they will always be sucking air. This is the reason I identify as an Independent. I’m choosy about the company I keep. I like strong people, with strong wills, and a well used moral compass.

So, this loud, brash, braggart from the Queens, that made the establishment Republicans cringe, turns out to be the most conservative president since Reagan. Donald Trump clearly loves this country with all of his heart, and wants to see America and it’s people strong and prosperous. He sincerely wants to see the United States out in front in world leadership. He doesn’t want young American men and women fighting in useless never ending wars. In my 77 years on this earth, Ronald Reagan and Donald Trump, in my opinion, have been the most pro American presidents I have seen. I pray the President remains in good health, we really need him for a second term. Maybe we can find some good Republicans to work with him and finish the job.
